A shiny one eyed ball with magnets

I was searching for Minum hordes on route 110 but it was a horde of Magnemite that contained a shiny Pokemon.

I used my combee to sweet scent the area to attract hordes and i think it's about 50% for Magnemite and Minum so i was not suprised to see a shiny Magnemite.

Two silver beasts

Nintendo have a Wifi Pokemon event going on right now which will end next week. The event is a shiny Beldum. The final form of Beldom is Metagross that's what these two Pokemon are.

i use both of my Pokemon games to get two Beldum and evolved the one on my Pokemon Alpha Sapphire in to Metagross as i played through the game, after that i actually reset the game and got a third beldum. 

Not before transferring the Metagross via Pokemon Bank to my Pokemon Omega Ruby.

Now all i have to do is evolve one of the Beldum in to Metang and i will have the complete set of the Beldum family.

Yep that's right i chose to look for a shiny Pikachu. It was not hard to choose what to look for next, Pikachu is one of my favorite Pokemon he is cute and everyone knows him.

I do prefer the normal color of Pikachu but to have a shiny is awesome and it only took about an hour of looking with the dexnav on Pokemon Omega Ruby.

Even though i knew i would find one i was still so excited to see this Pikachu shine as a bonus it as a male Pikachu as i prefer the flat end of the tail.

Shiny Zebstrika

The shiny Zebstrika encounter was half planned.

I was on a Mirage Island leveling up some Pokemon use the dexnav to encounter Zebstrika. They gave more experience points than Pokemon in Victory Road and i thought to my self it would be nice to have a shiny one.

I knew it was possible to find a shiny but i never really expected it so i was quite surprised when it happened.

Feebas is one ugly Pokemon but does look better in its shiny form.

Yes i just said Feebas is ugly but that's how its meant to be as it evolves when its beauty is full, ugly duckling style.

I chose to chain fish for feebas as it is one of the less common Pokemon available to catch in the game. Although it is easy to find now compared to the original Pokemon ruby and 
sapphire.

In a wild encounter a wild Skorupi appeared.

 I don't know exactly what i was doing when the shiny Skorupi appeared. I was ether training a Pokemon or looking for a Pokemon i believe it was the latter.

Oh my i was shocked when i saw the pink and red of the shiny Skorupi. Not paying attention while doing repetitive tasks on Pokemon is what i do best.

To me these are the best shiny encounters as they are unexpected, this was the first to happen in generation 6 of Pokemon.

I use the dexnav to encounter a wild Poochyena

This was the second wild Shiny Poochyena i caught. I caught one the day before because i needed one extra so i could evolve it in to Mightyena later on.

The total time using the dexnav to find a shiny Poochyena was about 3 hours.

Shiny Graveler

Shiny Graveler

Shiny Graveler was caught in Pokemon SoulSilver in a random encounter with are rate of 1/8192.

This shiny Graveler was the first wild shiny encounter i have ever caught. It was the second wild shiny encounter ever though as the first one was about an hour before this Graveler was caught. That Pokemon was indeed another Graveler who used the move self destruct fainting its self before i could catch it. It took me a total of 16 years to encounter a shiny pokemon and then it fainted its self. 

With this Graveler i was lucky enough to catch it before it could use the move self destruct. I use a dusk ball as i was in a cave, Victory Road to be exact. 

Dusk balls have a higher chance of capturing Pokemon compered to the normal Pokeball and i did not want to risk another shiny Graveler fainting.

Pokemon SoulSilver is where i caught my shiny Groudon.

I had to catch him on this game as on the new game this Pokemon is shiny locked( unable to catch in shiny form).

To make sure this legendary Pokemon would be a shiny i had to save before the battle, then soft reset every time the Groudon was not in shiny form.

I caught Groudon at 4am at my Farther-In-Laws wake

my wife and i were the only people at the wake at the time and my wife was asleep. I was not expecting anybody to show up so i was soft resetting to find the shiny Groudon. When it did shine for me i was speechless and in awe of this magnificent Pokemon. I was not really expecting to see the shiny Pokemon in font of me as i had already soft reset about 3000 times before over the course of 2 weeks.

This my shiny Gyarados that i caught in Pokemon HeartGold.

Gyarados is part of the story narrative in Pokemon HeartGold, and was the first Pokemon to be shiny in the main story in Pokemon Gold and Silver. Many people have caught this particular Pokemon making him less valuable in the Pokemon world. 

The encounter rate for shiny Pokemon in the older Pokemon games was 1/8192 and Gyarados was basically given to you all there was to do was catch it (which is quite easy).

What is The Shiny Dex?
The Shiny Dex is my adventure in catching and breeding all Pokemon in there Shiny form. I will be taking photos and videos of each capture or even fail to capture as i try to complete the collection of all 719 Pokemon.

Do i have any shiny Pokemon?
Yes i have a few shiny Pokemon already and will be making some post about the ones i already have to inform you on the adventure so far.

Why are you doing this?
while i was completing the normal living dex (Pokedex complete with every individual Pokemon) I was thing about doing this task so i just decided why not do it then came up with the idea of documenting it as well and now i am here.

Yes i have the Shiny Charm as it helps increase the rate of shiny Pokemon appearing. 

Are there Pokemon not available in shiny form?
yes there are. mostly mythical Pokemon these are Pokemon only give away by Nintendo via wifi events or live events by visiting a certain place ie one of the Pokemon centers in Japan.

How often will you post?
i will try to post immediately after catching a shiny Pokemon or the next day if caught at night.

i own a number of Pokemon merchandise and i will be visiting Japan soon so videos and blog post about them and anything else Pokemon related that i feel i would like to tell the world about.
